Top 10 Faith-Based Kid Activities for Busy Christian Moms
Simple, Spirit-filled ideas to help your kids grow in faith—without overwhelming your day!
Hey Mama,
We get it. You’ve got laundry in the washer, a snack request in the air, and probably a half-sipped coffee somewhere around the house. You love Jesus and want your kids to grow in Him, but when exactly are you supposed to fit in a full-blown Bible lesson?
Good news—you don’t need hours or Pinterest-worthy setups to disciple your kids. With just a few minutes and a little intention, you can weave faith into everyday life. Below are 10 fun, practical faith-based activities you can actually do—even on the busiest of days!
🌿 1. Prayer Walk Around the House
Take 5–10 minutes with your kids to walk through each room and pray together. Pray over the people who use the space, their hearts, and their needs.
📖 “Pray without ceasing.” —1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV)
🎨 2. Scripture Art Time
Give them crayons, markers, and paper, and let them draw a favorite Bible verse. You can even write the verse and let them decorate it!
📖 “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” —Psalm 119:11 (NKJV)
✨ 3. Gratitude Jar
Grab a jar and cut up some paper strips. Each day, write something you're thankful for as a family. At the end of the week, read them together and thank God.
📖 “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)
📚 4. Bible Story Snack Time
During snack or lunch, read a short Bible story and ask one fun question about it. Even five minutes of God’s Word plants seeds.
📖 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” —Romans 10:17 (NKJV)
🕊️ 5. Worship Dance Party
Put on worship music and let the kids sing, dance, and praise! It's a great way to release energy and celebrate God's goodness.
📖 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” —Psalm 150:6 (NKJV)
✋ 6. High Five Memory Verses
Pick a weekly verse and repeat it every time you high-five your kids during the day. Repetition + fun = Scripture memory success!
📖 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night…” —Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)
🧼 7. Gospel Object Lessons
Show how soap cleans dirty hands, and relate it to how Jesus cleans our hearts. Everyday objects = big faith moments.
📖 “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…” —Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)
🛏️ 8. Blessing Bedtime Routine
Each night, speak a short blessing over your child. Try: “May the Lord bless you and keep you” (Numbers 6:24). It brings peace to little hearts (and yours too).
📖 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord…” —Psalm 127:3 (NKJV)
🧩 9. Faith-Filled Playtime
As they play with blocks, dolls, or LEGOs, bring in simple spiritual themes: building on the Rock, kindness, forgiveness, teamwork.
📖 “Train up a child in the way he should go…” —Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
🧁 10. Baking with a Bible Twist
Make muffins or cookies and talk about the “fruit” of the Spirit. Assign a fruit to each trait: love = strawberries, kindness = bananas, etc.
📖 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness…” —Galatians 5:22 (NKJV)
💛 You Don’t Have to Be Perfect—Just Present
Mama, don’t overthink it. You don’t need a theology degree or a Pinterest-worthy homeschool room to raise kids who know Jesus. You just need to show up with a heart that says, “Lord, help me point them to You.”
Even five minutes of intentional faith-building is more powerful than you know. Keep planting those seeds. The harvest will come.
📖 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” —Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV):
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
